Cording Landscape Design has been a pleasure to work with. They are full service from concept to install and are top-notch at every phase of the project proving that seamless teamwork is possible even in a large scale project. When needed, they adjusted schedules to accommodate other subcontractors working on site as well as suggested subs when necessary. They managed the tiresome and difficult procedures in relation to engineers and zoning. They came in on budget, on time, and above all, they created an absolutely stunning, creative, and utterly personal space for our family. Rather than a cookie cutter landscape job, Cording Landscape Design delivered luxury, personality, and a touch of whimsy. We couldn’t be happier.

Houzz Review - Five Stars

We first hired Cording Landscape Design in the fall of 2013 to trim our trees and prepare for spring planting after seeing the excellent work they did building a patio for our neighbor. This spring they returned to trim again and complete planting new trees, shrubs and perennials. They focused on three areas – a two level patio, a new perennial garden and a section along the driveway. I asked to have the work completed before we had out of town guests arriving, which made for a tight schedule due to rain. Because the house was being painted they had to do some work before the painting and some after it was completed and we found them to be very flexible with our schedule.

This spring we first walked around so that Randi (our design consultant) was able to understand what I had in mind, what I like and don’t like, and to give me some of her thoughts about what could be done to make improvements. I then went to their nursery to see what recommendations she had and what was available in order to choose the perennials and trees to be added, all within the color scheme I had wanted and with the various seasons in mind. When they brought these plants to the house we then walked around again, deciding on what should be removed, what should be moved, and where each plant would be located.

The result is simply stunning – somewhat different from what I had envisioned and perfect! The patio is much more useful, pleasant and relaxing. From inside the house it appears that we are living in a lush garden and the outside landscape perfectly compliments the house. Randi was extremely easy to work with – very accomodating to our schedule and needs and clearly experienced and skilled in doing her job. The crew worked quickly and cleaned up completely. We are very pleased with the professionalism and expertise of the entire team. We will definitely hire them again and have already recommended them to several people.

We had the pleasure of working with the Cording team led by Beth Pellegrini on two projects. From the planning process through our transformation Beth and her team skillfully executed a beautiful plan. The outside space they created is one that continues to bring praise almost 6 years later. The artisans that Cording employs are timely, clean, respectful, and just as dedicated to fulfilling your dream plans as the master designers that created them. If you are looking to create a space that stands above the rest Cording should be considered.

From stonework to shrubs, fountains to flowers, Cording Landscape Design is creating beautiful landscapes across the Garden State. I’ve worked with Ron and his staff for 10 years on multiple projects, and they have cornered the market on creativity and cohesiveness. The beauty of their work is that the end result will look completely natural and flow from beginning to end. They are very open-minded to client suggestions and enjoy incorporating them into the overall plan. With a wonderful eye for combining textures and colors, you will be marking time until warmer days arrive so you can enjoy the blooming beauty beyond your threshold.

We have a large horsefarm and family home. Previous landscape designers and contractors had cared for our landscape, but never felt like it was what we really envisioned. Cording Landscape design started with us last spring, and we are thrilled! They took our exisitng design elements and enhanced them and added planters, maintenance and specimens. Now when we come home our house and property look just as we had envisioned, but could never articulate. The plants chosen are gorgeous, healthy, and add beauty, but not contrived. We have never been happier with a contractor. The team is professional, super neat, work efficiently and their artistic vision added to our home is amazing!

We have been working with Dan Chomuck and the Cording team to maintain our property since 2010. They do an exceptional job and are wonderfully pleasant 100% of the time! We have asked them to do the impossible with very tight deadlines and they have delivered each time! Guests consistently remark about how beautiful our property looks. We could not recommend Dan and Cording Landscaping more highly.

We used Beth Pelligrini of Cording Landscape to re-do our 2.5 acre property. From start to finish, they were the best contractors we’ve ever used. Beth and I spoke about our vision for the property and it took only 2 drafts for Beth to draw exactly what we envisioned. Moreover, the timeframe for the project and the proposed budget were right on target. There were no delays, no change orders and the cost was exactly as budgeted. Friends and neighbors laughed when we told them that the project would take only 5 months – there was a lot of hardscaping and drainage issues to consider. Cording put one crew on our project and they worked from dusk until dawn every day.

As expected, Cording finished exactly 5 months after the project started. Working with Cording was a pleasure and we love everything they’ve done. Since that time, we’ve worked with them on a number of smaller projects and have always had a positive experience. Beth and the crew are knowledgeable, experienced and professional and we highly recommend Beth Pelligrini and Cording Landscape for any landscape job.

They were always prompt, very courteous, and willing to do more for us than we requested. Their workers always cleaned up each day. They replaced any shrub that died. Always very willing to work in conjunction with other outdoor projects, such as pool excavation and building, and using landscape to hide equipment.

We couldn’t be happier with every member of the team at Cording. From design to execution and final details, every aspect of the job was extremely well done. They listened to our ideas and provided creative suggestions to help us realize our vision. Cording transformed our entire landscape, built walls and pathways, selected the plant material and integrated the design and final product into the architecture of our 1885 Colonial Revival home. Over the past 4 years the landscape has matured gracefully and we continue to work with Cording. Dan Chomuck is a creative master with beautiful arrangements for urns, planting boxes and other seasonal items. We would not hesitate to recommend Cording.

We have been working with Cording for about 6 years; we hired them after we had another landscape company complete a job for us –we were not at all happy with the work that company did so we were referred to Cording by friends. Initially, we worked with Beth to redesign our property by using some of what we had just purchased, along with additional trees and plantings. What we imagined would be a frustrating process was extremely painless! The end result was better than we had hoped for, and since then, we have used Cording for other projects as well as our seasonal maintenance each year.

Now we primarily deal with Dan, who is not only always available and accommodating, but also a total professional with a warm and friendly personality. We have had nothing but top notch service and kind treatment from everyone at Cording. We highly recommend them for services both big and small.

Beth Pellegrini with Cording Landscape Design completely transformed our back and side yards from simple lawn to a lush, garden atmosphere. She designed and installed stone steps leading to a flagstone patio with raised planting beds, stacked stone walls, and an irregular stone pathway leading to the street. A dry streambed was installed for aesthetic and functional purposes to address areas that were previously beset with standing water. Plantings included a number of perennials, grasses, and evergreens. Since the original work was completed, we have had them address other, smaller areas of our yard. We continue to receive compliments on the project and would recommend them for any landscape project.

As design professionals, providing our customers with a referral for any service is something that we take very seriously. That being said, we never hesitate to refer the team at Cording Landscape. Cording has been working alongside of us in many of our clients’ homes for years. We have also worked with Cording both on site at our retail location and at our own personal homes and their concepts are creative and thoughtful.

Landscape design is an investment that matures with age, so aside from the obvious concerns of aesthetics, lighting, water requirement, and deer consumption (a big deal in Northern NJ), Cording Landscape envisions what the property will look like five or ten years from now when the plantings are maturing to ensure that your investment today looks just as good, if not better, in the future.

We would highly recommend Cording Landscape and Design. Our property last year was devastated by Hurricane Sandy and some construction we were doing on our home. Ron and Randi were recommended by friends, so we hired them for the job of bringing life back to our property!
It was a pleasure to work with them both. They were hands on, had a great vision for our property and worked well within the budget we set.
Their crew was AMAZING, they came to work EVERYDAY with a smile, rain or shine, and worked hard throughout the day and night. They completed the job well within the timeframe given, which never happens. Our property looks amazing and we are so grateful for their hard work and vision.

Houzz Review - Five Stars

My wife and I first knowingly came across Cording Landscape Design’s work while on a house tour earlier this year. We were impressed by the house’s grounds and gardens, asked the attendants if they knew the firm/person that did the work, and were provided with Cording’s name. We knew we wanted to redo our back yard and patio area, and were gathering ideas and information.

After what we thought was a pretty exhaustive process involving research, introductions, meetings, communications, and reference checks across multiple possible firms, we decided on Cording Landscape Design.

Cording offered creative design ideas, considerable plan flexibility, and great responsiveness throughout the process. They delivered a beautiful and high-quality bluestone patio, and plantings that matched our considerable expectations, during what we felt was a truly collaborative effort. The work was done according to schedule, and Cording quickly communicated about and resolved whatever issues arose.

We were so happy with the results in the back, that we asked Cording to overhaul our front yard. They quickly offered a design plan and provided a number of options. The results were exciting and satisfying. Weeks after the job was completed, I still take my time when approaching the front of the house, to admire and enjoy the new landscape.

Not only did Cording do a great job, but also the staff was a pleasure to work with. My wife and I are now considering other projects with Cording. We look forward to continuing our relationship and wholeheartedly recommend them.

I cannot say enough about Cording Landscape. I think it says it all that we originally hired them to redo our front yard and walkway creating natural stone steps and gardens, and loved what they did so much we hired them to do our back yard, pool area, and put a circular garden in our side yard. Every year since our original design they come back and tweak the stunning work they did for us. Ron Cording and all the staff members are very particular to detail, extremely creative, and intensely hard working. The crew was amazing to watch work with the stone, and their placement of trees, shrubs, and flowers ensured we always have color blooming in the yard regardless of the season. In addition to being outstanding at what they do, the staff is friendly, respectful, and timely. We truly love everything about Cording landscape.

Cording employees are friendly, dedicated, and highly skilled at what they do. Their work with large boulders and fieldstone was truly impressive. Their placement and care of the numerous gorgeous trees and plants is amazing! Every season and every month I can walk down the steps and see something colorful and blooming. The Cording crews’ commitment is astounding. During their busiest season, we asked Ron to fit us in for a spring touch up and added garden. The crew stayed very late and came very early numerous days to finish perfecting our yard before a soccer party. We still laugh that the crew was popping the last flowering plant in the ground, and adding the last stepping stone to the new circular garden one hour before the party started. Of course, it was done to perfection and looked stunning for the party. We truly feel that Cording Landscape is the best there is and that we are so lucky to have them.

We have enjoyed a 9 year relationship with Cording Landscape Design. During this time we have experienced the stunning transformation of our property into the sanctuary of our dreams. Each and every feature was thoughtfully planned and skillfully came to life under the creative and expert hands of Cording. Our landscape includes many aspects that are so special and uplifting to us year round, such as: a beautiful natural rock waterfall, expertly crafted and unique stone patios and walls spilling over with lush perennials, architectural and elegant tree forms, masses of flowering shrubs and distinctive varieties of many plants. Cording emphasized the aspects of our property we wished to retain, such as old-growth trees, and re-invented the rest to reflect our collective vision of a beautiful, natural sanctuary. Each year, the entire landscape just keeps getting better and better. We couldn’t be more happy with the results.

We have had a long standing relationship with Cording Landscape Design and now we are family. Gardens mature, change, and create new challenges over time. It requires a continuity of vision and experience to enhance the beauty of natural spaces. The Cording “family” of Ron, Beth, and Victor’s combined vision is in sync with my ideas. We work collaboratively to constantly create truly beautiful landscapes that enhance our garden’s natural surroundings.

We have done several substantial projects with Cording Landscape Design over the past six years, including redesigning of a bluestone terrace, the addition of rock gardens with a pond and waterfall, and the redesigning of the front driveway and entrances. These projects included stone walls, walkways and terraces, and regarding and plantings. We have had stunning results that have transformed our outdoor living experience into something we could not have imagined. After having to re-do projects done by other landscapers because of poor quality, we highly recommend Cording Landscape Design. Cording is well worth the investment.

When in 2001 we decided to put an in-ground pool in our flat and rather ordinary back yard, I initially consulted with Cording Landscape, specifically Ron Cording. From that point on, the entire experience of constructing not just a pool, but a back yard “environment” was not only exciting, but relatively easy. Ron’s overall plan turned our yard into a spa like retreat that people liken to a resort! We have enjoyed his work in every season, with a range of color and texture each month. Maintenance crews keep our yard looking great. I am very glad I made the first call to Ron Cording.
